What the extra depth actually adds
A standard reading works from the rashi chart, the main birth chart, and that is the right place to start. But Vedic astrology also uses divisional charts — vargas — each derived from the main chart and each magnifying one area of life. The navamsa governs marriage and inner strength, the dashamsha career, the saptamsha children, and so on through sixteen recognised divisions.
These matter because a planet can look strong in the main chart and weak in the division that governs the question you are asking. Someone with an impressive tenth house but an afflicted dashamsha will recognise a career that looks better from outside than it feels from inside. That gap is invisible in a standard reading and obvious in a deeper one.
Ashtakavarga adds a numerical layer, scoring the strength each house and sign receives from the planets. It is particularly useful for transits: it shows which transits will actually deliver for you rather than which ought to in theory. Alongside it, the yogas present in the chart are assessed in detail — not merely listed, but weighed for whether they are strong enough to operate.
This is a longer consultation and it is not the right first step. It suits people who have had the overview, have one substantial question — a career change, a relocation, a marriage decision, a long illness — and want it examined with everything the tradition has available.

A clear, caring path
How the deeper analysis works
A deeper analysis confirms the birth time first, then reads the divisional charts that bear on your specific question — navamsa, dashamsha and others — weighing ashtakavarga strength and yoga formation against the timing. It suits one weighty question rather than a general overview.
Confirm the birth time first
Divisional charts are highly sensitive to birth time — a few minutes moves the navamsa. The time is verified, and rectified if necessary, before anything is built on it.
Read the relevant divisions
The divisional charts governing your question are cast and read alongside the main chart, showing where the two agree and, more informatively, where they do not.
Weigh strength and timing
Ashtakavarga scores and detailed yoga assessment establish which influences are strong enough to operate, and the dasha and transit sequence sets out when.

When this depth is worth it
Best after a standard reading, not instead of one.
- You have had an overview reading and one question remains open
- A major decision — relocation, career change, marriage — is imminent
- Two readings have contradicted each other and you want it settled
- Life looks well-arranged on paper and does not feel that way
- You are considering a substantial financial or business commitment
- You want the transits ahead assessed for your chart specifically
