What is a Vedic astrology reading?
A Vedic astrology reading, or jyotish reading, interprets the chart cast for your exact date, time and place of birth. It maps the twelve houses against the planetary positions to describe the themes of your life and, crucially, their timing through the dasha system.
Vedic astrology differs from Western astrology in one important respect: it uses the sidereal zodiac, fixed to the observed stars, rather than the tropical zodiac. This is why your Vedic sun sign is often one sign back from the Western one. Neither system is a corrupted version of the other — they answer different questions from different starting points.
A reading typically covers marriage and relationships, career and money, health, family, and the periods ahead. Where the chart points to a specific difficulty, Vijay Ram ji will explain what remedy genuinely applies — a gemstone recommendation, a Kaal Sarp or Pitra Dosh remedy, or nothing at all if nothing is needed.
If you do not know your exact birth time, say so — there are techniques for working around it, and he would rather adjust the method than give you a confident reading built on a wrong chart.
